INFO: iCloud sync/backup

Last Updated:

eWallet 7.3 and later for iOS features built-in support for iCloud, both for backing up wallets and for sharing wallets between iOS devices using iOS 5 and newer. Starting with eWallet 8 on iOS, iCloud uses our SyncPro sync engine to do full card-level synchronization.

Although iCloud sync support is not available with eWallet for Windows, we offer Cloud Sync via Dropbox, Cloud Sync via Google Drive, and Cloud Sync via Microsoft OneDrive on the Windows, macOS, Android and iPhone & iPad versions of eWallet.

Before you start setting up iCloud sync for your iPhone or iPad, we recommend you use the “Share/Back Up Wallet File” feature (More menu) to send a backup copy of your encrypted wallet file to yourself over email or via AirDrop.

To set up eWallet’s iCloud sync on your primary iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to your device’s Settings App → iCloud and make sure:
    1. iOS 8: Documents & Data is toggled [On]
    2. iOS 9+: iCloud Drive is toggled [On]
  2. Open eWallet on your iPhone or iPad, but do not enter the password yet (you may need to tap the Wallets button
  3. Tap the cloud icon
  4. Select your wallet under CLOUD STORAGE SERVICE and then select iCloud
  5. For iPad, the iCloud icon will also be found on the device’s list of wallet files screen.

To set up additional iPhones/iPads with iCloud

  1. Go to your device’s Settings App → iCloud and make sure:
    1. iOS 8: Documents & Data is toggled [On]
    2. iOS 9+: iCloud Drive is toggled [On]
