False anti-virus warning

Once in a while, someone may run into a WS.Reputation.1 warning from Symantec’s anti-virus products. This is not a virus warning at all (it does NOT indicate a virus), but rather a crowd reputation notification. This inaccurate notification can sometimes happen around a new release of a product when the crowd-sourcing hasn’t yet caught up to say the new release is ok. There’s more information from Symantec

This article also discusses the issue and tells you how to get out of it when a product has been incorrectly categorized by the anti-virus software on your Windows PC.

For our Windows PC products, you can right click on the installer (Digital Signatures tab), and verify that the installer has been digitally signed by us, as an extra measure of protection:
