Yes. eWallet on the iPhone and iPod touch lets you create nested categories. You can create categories within categories. This makes it easy to organize your cards just the way you want them. To nest your categories simply Move a card or category into the category you want them in, or create a new category in the category you want them in.

Yes absolutely. You do this outside of the eWallet app: Run the Settings “app” Scroll down until you see eWallet in your list of applications, then tap on it Slide Lock on Suspend to the on position You may also want to set a shorter timeout for eWallet (see “Set eWallet to lock automatically” for details.

FAQ: Is my iPhone eWallet information backed up?
Yes, the information in eWallet on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is backed up by iTunes when you sync. However, the iTunes backup process is completely independent of eWallet or any other app on your phone and is outside of our (or any other developer’s) control.

FAQ: Do I have to buy or re-purchase eWallet for my iPhone / iPad / iPod touch?
If you own a Windows PC or Mac OS X Desktop version of eWallet already: The iTunes App Store is the sole way to install applications on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. We cannot include the iPhone version with the desktop eWallet, so it has to be a separate purchase.

FAQ: How do I keep the Import Wizard from putting card fields into the Notes of a card?
eWallet’s import wizard attempts to map fields in whatever program you were using, to fields in eWallet cards. If a field exists in the program you are importing from, but doesn’t exist in an eWallet card.

FAQ: What does upgrading my eWallet desktop software do to my current eWallet data?
Nothing! Installing the eWallet program on top of itself or upgrading to a new version will not overwrite or delete your existing data data. eWallet will not delete your wallet file, even when installing an upgrade.

FAQ: Why can't I import my exported (.txt) eWallet wallet file?
eWallet’s export format is designed to provide you with a flat list of all of the cards from your wallet file. The data isn’t formatted in any way, although it is easily readable by a human.

FAQ: Where did my eWallet desktop icon go on Windows PC?
eWallet 5.0 and newer no longer installs a shortcut icon onto your desktop PC. We made this change because of Windows Vista; Microsoft no longer recommends that software install icons to your desktop by default.

To make a new nested category: On a Windows PC, click a category name with the mouse button you don’t usually use (most commonly the right mouse button), and pick New Subcategory from the menu.

To move a card or category, you can either drag the card or category to move it, or cut and paste it where you want it moved to.

FAQ: What is Item Level Synchronization?
“Item level synchronization” means that if you make changes to cards in your wallet on both the PC and the location you are synching to, all of those changes will be retained when you synchronize.

SyncPro® is a part of eWallet®. It provides Item Level Synchronization for wallet files. SyncPro is built-in to the Windows PC and Mac OS X versions of eWallet for WiFi sync. Some platforms also have SyncPro cloud sync.

FAQ: What does the type of a category mean? How do I change its icon on a Windows PC?
An eWallet category’s type controls the default type of new cards created in that category. On a Windows desktop or notebook PC, categories have 3 attributes: name, icon, and default card type. You can have any kind of card in any kind of category; the default is just what’s pre-selected for you when you make a new card.

FAQ: How many levels of nested categories can I have?
You can have as many levels of nested categories as you want, though we recommend no more than 3. If you have too many, you may not be able to see all of them on your device’s screen when they are expanded.

FAQ: Why doesn't eWallet open my default browser on my desktop?
eWallet’s AutoPass feature - enabled by default - supports Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. eWallet opens the default browser for your system. If you use a web browser that isn’t supported, you will need to turn off AutoPass so eWallet will open it.

FAQ: How can eWallet protect me against keyboard hijacking websites?
eWallet’s AutoPass feature will fill in a username and password on any webpage, so keylogger software cannot record what you type. If you have the name, password and URL stored in an eWallet card, you can just click on the URL, and eWallet will fill in the username and password.

FAQ: How good is eWallet's encryption?
eWallet® uses the secure 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for encrypting information in your wallet. This is the same encryption method that many government organizations require to protect their data. FAQ: What's my password? What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
Only you know the password to your own wallet file. When you first create a wallet you are prompted to enter a password to protect your wallet file. Unless you later changed it, whatever password you entered when you created the file is your password now.

FAQ: I'm getting a synchronization error that is not in the online FAQ. Now what?
If you’re having problems of any kind with SyncPro synchronization, first check the synchronization log. Pick Home -> View Log to open it up. The synchronization log will frequently help you figure out what’s wrong with your synchronization.

FAQ: How do I import data from a CSV file into eWallet?
You can convert your data from another data management system to use in eWallet. For more information about how the eWallet import works, click here. eWallet does not support true generic import, but you may be able to format your text data so eWallet can try to import it.

FAQ: How do I do a silent install of eWallet on Windows PC?
eWallet 4.1 and higher supports silent installs. The command-line options are /SILENT and /VERYSILENT. /SILENT will run the installation with a displayed progress window, and /VERYSILENT will run the installation without any graphical feedback. Note that eWallet may launch at the end of the install, along with the Getting Started help document.
