ERROR: I can't sync eWallet for iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad with my Mac!

eWallet 7 for Mac features synchronization with Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad); our original Mac Preview does not have synchronization support. If you have the Preview installed, you need to download and install the full eWallet for Mac.

eWallet synchronization with Apple iOS devices works over a local WIFI connection between your Mac and your mobile device. If your computer connects to your wireless router with an ethernet cable, you should still be able to sync. You cannot sync via USB.

Since the sync process works using a network connection, anything that disrupts the network connection between your Mac and Apple mobile device could prevent you from syncing.

If eWallet cannot find your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, or if it cannot connect after detecting it:

  • Be sure to add Exceptions or Rules to your firewall/antivirus to Allow "BonJour" and "eWallet" to pass through. (See here for a list of ports to allow.)
  • Reboot your WIFI router or access point, and THEN your iOS device.  Verify that your device has re-connected with *your* network and not another one nearby.
  • If you have an existing iPhone/iPod/iPad Sync Location in the desktop eWallet Setup, remove it, and then run Sync Setup again, starting on the iPhone/iPod/iPad device FIRST.

Also, be sure you have the latest versions of eWallet on both devices --

To update or re-download eWallet on your iPhone/iPod/iPad device or Mac:

1- Open the App Store app on your iOS device
(for Mac, use the Mac App store)
   2- Choose Updates
   3- Choose Purchased
4- Click on the download icon next to eWallet

You can view the iPhone/iPod/iPad eWallet sync instructions here:

If you are still having trouble:

Reset the network settings on your iOS device, by going to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. You will have to log in to your WIFI network again.
