FlexWallet and eWallet Combine

December 17th, 2007

New Product Combines Best Features of Both Titles

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–December 17, 2007 - Web Information Solutions, Inc. and Ilium Software are very pleased to announce eWallet 6.0 - a new release that combines the best features of FlexWallet and eWallet.

eWallet 6.0, available for Windows Mobile and Palm OS, combines the earlier functionality and ease of use of both FlexWallet and eWallet, and adds many new features, including stronger security, with AES FIPS and 256-bit encryption, more remote syncing options, and more security and customization options. In addition, eWallet 6.0, based on FlexWallet for BlackBerry, will be released for Blackberry devices in the first half of 2008, allowing current eWallet and FlexWallet users to have compatible wallets across Windows Mobile, Palm, Blackberry, U3, and Windows desktop platforms.

WebIS and Ilium Software have worked together to create an easy migration path for FlexWallet users. From eWallet’s new Flex View, a display format that emulates the FlexWallet grid style display, to automatic FlexWallet wallet conversion, FlexWallet users will find the transition to eWallet an easy one. All eligible FlexWallet licenses have been converted to eWallet licenses, so that eWallet’s upgrade policies (free upgrades within 90 days of a purchase, discounts for any other upgrades or additional platforms) will apply to current registered users of both FlexWallet and eWallet.

“By combining the efforts of Ilium Software and WebIS together our customers win”, said Alex Kac, CEO of WebIS. “Ilium is focused on the wallet market and this move creates a synergy which over the next year is going to really shine between the two companies.”

“We’re thrilled that WebIS chose to work with us on this,” said Marc Tassin, Senior Product Manager at Ilium Software. “The chance to work with WebIS to bring together two of the top-selling secure information management applications on the market is an amazing opportunity. We’re going to do everything we can to make this a great experience for FlexWallet users.”

This decision allows WebIS to focus on Pocket Informant and other award-winning applications, and allows Ilium Software to more easily add and support eWallet on other platforms in the future. It gives current users of both programs a state-of-the-art way to keep their personal information safe and secure on a variety of devices and operating systems.

eWallet 6.0 will be sold on both the WebIS and Ilium Software websites, as well as by many leading mobile software distributors. eWallet on Blackberry will be supported and maintained by WebIS; on Windows Mobile, Palm, Windows and U3 by Ilium Software.

Ilium Software Releases eWallet 6.0

December 17th, 2007

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–December 17, 2007 - Ilium Software is pleased to announce the release of eWallet 6.0, the latest version of their award-winning password manager program. eWallet is available for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and Smartphones, Palm OS handhelds, Windows PCs, U3 Smart Drives, and UMPCs. With this release, Ilium Software is also unveiling the eWallet Web Companion. This innovative web-based application allows eWallet users to view their information on the iPhone, iPod touch, Blackberry devices, Symbian phones, or any other device with a web browser and an internet connection.

Current owners and new users alike will find many great new features in eWallet 6.0. The encryption method has been updated to a stronger, government-level 256-bit AES FIPS algorithm, offering better security for important information. Users can also insert and encrypt files into their wallets, making it safe and easy to take data with them to access whenever they need it. And now users can even tell the program to automatically save a backup of their file any time they close or lock it, ensuring that no one will have to be without the info they need. eWallet 6.0 also adds SFTP synchronization, allowing users to securely synchronize their information to remote locations.

Aside from offering top-level security, eWallet 6.0 gives users many new ways to personalize their wallets to fit their style. Users will find two built-in card background graphics included in the program, as well as 10 more free background graphics available for download from Ilium Software’s website. For users who just like to use colors for their cards instead of images, eWallet 6.0 now blends any background color into a gradient on the card, bringing an updated look and feel to the program. The website also offers another free download to customize cards and categories, in the form of a brand-new Icon Pack with over 200 icons inside.

In addition to unique designs for every card, users will now be given a choice on how they would like to view their data. eWallet 6.0 introduces Flex View, which allows users to read their card data in an easy-to-browse list. Of course, eWallet’s well-known card-style view is still available, displaying information as if it were on a real card.

Among eWallet’s other new features are a built-in Import Wizard on the desktop to help users switch easily from other password programs, and greatly improved 1-handed navigation, making it simpler to create, edit and use cards on mobile devices. Windows Mobile Smartphone users will also find that eWallet 6.0 now includes all the same features on their devices as on the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform, offering them the same experience with the program if they work on multiple devices.

In conjunction with the release of eWallet 6.0, Ilium Software is also announcing a new partnership with Web Information Solutions. The two companies are very pleased to announce that eWallet 6.0 will combine the best features of both FlexWallet and eWallet, and that older version licenses for both titles will be upgradeable to eWallet 6.0. Complete data compatibility across platforms will let current FlexWallet and eWallet users have compatible wallets across Windows Mobile, Palm, U3, and Windows desktop platforms, with a Blackberry version, based on FlexWallet for BlackBerry, to be released for Blackberry devices in the first half of 2008.

Ilium Software Releases Innovative Text Entry for UMPCs

September 19th, 2006

Ilium Software today released InScribe 2007, a new approach to text entry for Microsoft’s new Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPCs) and Tablet PCs. InScribe 2007 is a fully customizable on-screen keyboard that uses an innovative text entry technique where the user slides the stylus from letter to letter to enter text. This method of text entry is fast, natural, and easy to learn. InScribe 2007 also allows text entry via the standard key tap method or by turning the entire display into a touch sensitive keyboard. Because the InScribe 2007 keyboard can be transparent, the user can enter text on it and still see his or her work.

On September 12th, InScribe 2007 was honored at the Handango Summit when it was announced as the winner of the “Best UMPC Software” competition sponsored by Microsoft and Handango. Microsoft judges cited InScribe’s ease of use, adaptability, and attention to quality as the basis for its selection.

Before the release of InScribe 2007, advance copies were sent to Microsoft MVPs for review. James Kendrick of the respected UMPC and Tablet PC website JkOnTheRun.com was particularly impressed. In his review of the product he described it as “…the fastest on-screen keyboard I have ever worked with and very accurate.”

InScribe is Ilium Software’s first product designed specifically for Microsoft’s new UMPC (also known as Origami) platform. “We’re very excited about moving into the UMPC market” said Marc Tassin, Senior Product Manager for Ilium Software. “The platform has amazing potential and is a great addition to the mobile device landscape.”

Ilium Software is well known for being a market leader in mobile device software. The company’s award-winning titles include eWallet, ListPro, NewsBreak, and DockWare, available for Windows Mobile Smartphone, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Palm OS, and Windows PC. Ilium Software was founded in 1997 and has worked closely with Microsoft, as well as with Handango and Motricity, to create and distribute their titles. Ilium Software was a founding member of Microsoft’s Mobile Partner Advisory Council, and was awarded Handango’s “Developer of the Year” in 2005.

InScribe 2007 is currently available at no charge from Ilium Software’s website at http://www.iliumsoft.com/inscribe.

Good News From the Handango Summit

September 13th, 2006

We’ve just gotten two pieces of good news from the Handango Summit:

eWallet (Professional Edition) won the Handango Champion 2006 award for Best Application for Life on the Pocket PC platform. The Champion awards are Handango’s annual awards recognizing the top software in various categories. Users choose their favorite programs to be nominated, then the final awards are chosen by an independent panel of judges made up of industry experts in the mobile software field.

InScribe, which we’ll be releasing later this month for the new Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) platform, was one of the 3 winning programs in Handango’s best new UMPC software contest. The 3 winning programs were selected by independent experts and Microsoft personnel as showing best utilization of the features and functionality of the new platform.

We’ll have more information very soon.
